What is the 3-2-1 rule?
Three copies of the data, on two different media, one of them off-site or offline. This way the backup survives hardware failure, fire and ransomware.
Is a NAS enough as a backup?
A NAS on its own is not a complete backup if it is permanently connected to the network. We add a separate copy.
Do you test the backup?
Yes. A backup only counts as working once the restore has been tested. We document the test.
