A backup is for quickly restoring current data. An archive keeps completed data unchanged over the long term, for example for retention periods.
Why offline?
Data that is not connected to the network can be neither encrypted by attackers nor deleted by accident.
How is readability ensured?
We check the drives regularly, make several copies and renew the media in good time.
